Most talked about whispers in recent history:
2.

3.
All 3 of the great whispers involve obvious, counterproductive whispering in public. Isn’t the point of whispering to be secretive? There is a distinct difference between number 1 on our chart and numbers 2 and 3. The whisper chart topper is a masterpiece created by the ying yang twins that should be featured in the next WestWorld orgy scene. They whisper about very dirty things but whisper loud enough to be heard. It seems safe to assume they wanted people to be interested in their whispering so they could sell records, make money and do whatever it is they were whispering about with their fiance and business partners.
Numbers 2 and 3 involve Lebron covering his mouth and talking to other players. In #2 the biggest basketball star on the planet was about to be a free agent. There was already heavy scrutiny he would leave behind his hometown for LA, and now he is whispering to his suitors point guard? How shocking that people wanted to know what was said! #3 is just plain funny considering Durant’s “I hate the media, leave me alone just let me play basketball” narrative. Imagine if everyone publicly complained about what they don’t like about their job. A teacher could post on Facebook or dial up the times dispatch and say “I don’t want to pay taxes. I don’t want to sit in traffic on my commute. I want to get paid based on my performance.I don’t want to have to answer 50 emails from crazy parents whose kids never listen to me every day. I just want to teach!” or they could say “Hey I chose this life/job I’m going to do the best I can and smile and not complain” (see Steph, Giannis even Embiid and many more).
Now a couple of the 9 people who will read this may be thinking “Well that coach Popovich is nasty to the media occasionally and everybody loves him.” You have a good point! The only rebuttal I would have is that he apparently is a great guy, everyone in the league loves him (except Kawhi?). Also, as I’ve gotten elderly I’ve realized reporters ask some really stupid questions, especially when you consider that this is their full time job. Imagine asking your dad a really stupid question after he just had a bad day at work? That’s how I think of Poppy seed. He is a curmudgeon, but he has kind of earned it. I digress.
Anyway, I guess my point is that whispering in public in front of cameras is using whispering for the opposite of it’s intended purpose. I’m sure KD and Lebron greeted reporters with shocked looks and eye rolls when asked about their “private” conversation. Maybe Lebron wants the spotlight since he won’t be in the playoffs? Maybe he just really loves the whisper song? Maybe I should stop typing?

As if Lebron doesn’t have KD’s cell phone number or can’t meet him privately for dinner. Nope, most efficient way to do this is cover our mouths while we know all cameras are on us.
Then we’ll act like the media is crazy for asking us what we said!!
Enjoyed!
